Set Up Your Company

Use this guide after you sign in to a new workspace for the first time.

The goal is to make QELM show the right company details on customer-facing work, give the team the right access, and prepare the workspace for real jobs.

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Fill in the company profile.

Add company name, email, phone, address, and website. These details can appear on customer-facing documents.

  3. Add proposal and invoice defaults.

Set the invoice prefix, license or certification footer, default proposal terms, and acknowledgment text.

  4. Set workspace defaults.

Add default tax rate, default labor rate, fleet service defaults, and notification CC emails if your team uses them.

  5. Invite users from People & Access.

Start with only the people who need access on day one.

  6. Review Roles and Permissions.

Make sure each person can do their job without seeing more than they need.

  7. Set up Billing and Stripe if the workspace is ready for paid use or online invoice payments.

Company profile

The public identity of your company inside QELM.

Proposal defaults

The standard language and details that new estimates can start from.

Rates and preferences

Defaults like tax rate and labor rate that help new work start faster.

Stripe connection

Lets customers pay invoice links online after Stripe onboarding is complete.

  • Do not invite every employee until roles are checked.
  • Do not enter all old work before the first workflow test.
  • Do not connect Stripe until an Admin is ready to complete the Stripe onboarding steps.
  • Do not treat first setup as final. Update defaults as your team learns the workflow.
