First Day in QELM

Use this guide when your company is new to QELM.

The goal is simple: get signed in, check the basics, invite the right people, and move one test job through the system. Do not try to set up everything on day one.

Workspace URL

Your company signs in at its own address, like your-company.qelm.app.

Admin account

At least one trusted person needs Admin access before the team starts using QELM.

Company details

Have your company name, email, phone, address, website, and proposal defaults ready.

One test job

Pick one simple job you can use for training. It does not need to be perfect.

  1. Sign in at your workspace URL.

If you do not know the URL, ask your QELM administrator.

  2. Confirm your role.

Admins can manage users, settings, billing, and permissions. Managers can run most day-to-day work. Field users only need the work they are assigned.

  3. Open Settings, Support & Activity.

Add your company profile and basic defaults. These details can show up on estimates, invoices, and other customer-facing documents.

  4. Open People & Access.

Invite the people who need access first. Keep the first group small: owner, office admin, manager, and one field user.

  5. Create one test job.

Use Jobs to create the job. Add enough detail that your team can understand what the job is.

  6. Move the job through the main workflow.

Create an estimate, place the work on dispatch, send an invoice, and read the result in reports.

What to check

Make sure job profit, open invoices, and payroll numbers make sense before the team relies on them.

  • Do not invite the whole company before roles and permissions are checked.
  • Do not enter every old job before the team understands the new workflow.
  • Do not treat the first test job as final accounting.
  • Do not ignore billing setup if the workspace is near the end of trial.
